Data Sheet: Recombinant ProteinG Agarose

Protein G is an immunoglobulin binding protein from streptococci that primarily binds to mammalian IgGs through Fc regions. Native protein G has 3 IgG binding domains as well as sites for albumin and cell-surface binding. Our recombinant protein G is produced without the albumin binding domain to reduce non-specific binding. Protein G has strong affinity for most mammalian IgGs, including all human subclasses (IgG1, IgG2, IgG3 and IgG4) and also rabbit, mouse, and goat IgG. Protein G shows a broader range of binding to IgG subclasses than staphylococcal protein A. Please note there is a 6x histidine tag. This product was produced by covalently binding recombinant protein G to 6% agarose bead. Amounts refer to settled bed volume.
